Thames Valley Surgical Services is committed to providing a safe, clean, and effective clinical environment for all patients, staff, and visitors. We recognise that the prevention and control of infection is fundamental to the delivery of high quality surgical care with us specialising in minor surgical procedures and vasectomy procedures with our clinic.Our organisation operates in accordance with current UK legislation, national guidance, and best practice, including but not limited to guidance from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), and the Care Quality Commission (CQC). At Thames Valley Surgical Services to make sure we are following current NHS guidance we have acquired the Harrogate IPC modules to ensure we remain up to date with Infection Control trends and best practice. These IPC resources produced by an experienced NHS Team to help us to meet CQC requirements and to help to reduce healthcare associated infection.

Thames Valley Surgical Services ensures that:
- Standard infection control precautions are applied to all patients at all times
- Hand hygiene is rigorously practiced and audited
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available, appropriate, and correctly used
- Clinical environments and equipment are cleaned, disinfected, and sterilised in line with approved protocols
- Single-use and reusable instruments are managed safely and appropriately
- Waste disposal, including clinical waste and sharps, is carried out in accordance with legislation
- Aseptic techniques are used for all surgical and invasive procedures
- Staff are trained, competent, and updated regularly on infection prevention and control practices
- Incidents, outbreaks, or risks relating to infection are reported, investigated, and managed promptly
- Encourage staff and patients to raise any issues or report any incidents relating to cleanliness and infection control. We discuss these and identify improvements we can make at our Clinical Governance meetings, to avoid any future problems and make ongoing changes.
